EfW Plant Manager

Location – Belfast

An internationally renowned specialist contractor who construct and operate EfW plants globally. Their sites in the UK are Advanced Thermal Treatment facilities using the latest gasification methods.

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant and ensure policies and procedures are followed. Reporting to the UK Head of O&M, they will develop processes that will maximise stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. They will also be responsible for planning, organising, directing and running optimum day to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations. Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

The Plant Manager will also:

·Plan, organise, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed for the customers’ expectations

·Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

·Be responsible for production output, product quality

·Allocate resources effectively and fully utilise assets to produce optimal results

·Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear

·Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions

·Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop

·Collect and analyse data to find places of waste or overtime

·Commit to plant safety procedures

·Develop systems and processes that track and optimise productivity and

standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

·Address employees’ issues or grievances

·Influence, learn and implement continuous improvement

·Stay up to date with latest waste management best practices and concepts

·Comply with company policies, procedures, and QSE requirements and ensure a safe and healthy working environment within the postholder’s span of control

·Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the company. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job description

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven work experience as a plant manager in the EFW sector. They will have adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) and will be familiar with industry standard equipment. They must also be knowledgeable in safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

Together with an attractive salary, the Plant Manager will be given autonomy to run their site as efficiently as possible. Leading the plant, they will have a head of operations together with an Engineering Manager reporting to them
